How Will I know which Laptop is best or suits my needs?
An important aspect to take into account when looking for a laptop you shouldn’t buy a laptop on reputation alone such as a much known brand or name, so to be on the safe side there are several criteria you can use to help you to make the right choice and that help would to avoid costly mistakes.
There are a basic requirements or features in any appliance, as such it would be the same issue with the laptop. What do you want to do with the laptop- just word processing, emails, excel/spreadsheets; internet; Facebook; movies etc.?
Some of the things to be checked in any new laptop you should look for are:
- Performance: What is the true power of your preferred laptop?
- Screen quality: Remember with screen it’s not just the resolution that matters or counts. There is gamma, colour accuracy and glare are all important to accurately judge the laptop’s display.
- Speaker quality: Sometimes it can be easy to overlook the sound issue when it comes to laptops, to make sure that you don’t end up with a device that you won’t be able or enjoy listening to your favourite albums and movies.
- Portability: Laptops are meant to be portable, but if it’s too big or heavy that can be a real inconvenience for you as a retiree or for anyone on a daily basis
- Battery: Make sure you check the battery life that is how long the battery lasts. You wouldn’t like the battery to run out and the laptop stops in the middle while you are watching your favourite movie, programme or surfing the web or in the middle of writing a nice story you may end up losing your document if you forget to save or put on auto save.
Budget
Having or setting the amount you would like to spend will be a determining factor of what type of laptop you can afford to buy. As such knowing and setting your budget aside would be very helpful choosing the right laptop.

Can a Laptop Save my Marriage?
Yes, a laptop can help to save your marriage, keep yourself busy on the laptop rather than staring at each all day long. It is a known fact or as most of us know someone or have heard from the media, a lot of marriages have been very strained or broken during this lockdown. The problem has been most people have been together 24/7, as nobody was allowed to go out especially retirees who love their pint, but they couldn’t visit their favourite pub.
The only thing they could do is sit together and just watch TV sometime you can end up fighting for very minor things such as who is controlling the remote or which programme to watch as both of you have different tastes.
However, with a laptop, you would be always busy doing something on your laptop such as writing stories, checking and responding to emails, chatting to friends and family on Facebook, browsing internet or watching your favourite movie or programme. You don’t have to fight for the remote as all your favourite programmes are available on your laptop which you can move with it anywhere around your house, you are not glued to the chair in the living room.
I have experienced this with my partner some of the days we just meet for dinner as both of us would be busy on our laptops, he would be in his office I would be in another room working on my laptop. When we meet in the evening for dinner is very exciting as both of us would tell each other what we did that day. I found it very therapeutic. As such you look forward every day as you have something new planned to do.
Sometimes, I think, just imagine, suppose we didn’t have these laptops what we would we have been doing during this lockdown? We can’t have our grandchildren around who can make us busy and entertain us or we can’t visit our family members and friends. Remember, we are all just human beings even if you love someone sometimes you can get into someone’s nerves and that would be the beginning of squabbles and quarrels in your marriage. However, with your laptop to distract you, it can help to save your marriage immensely, no more thinking of going to the pub.

I think the computer runs very well and smoothly. It can sometimes be a bit slow to start up but once it gets going its really handy. I like the design, it looks sleek but not too flashy like the ENVY models. the keyboard is slightly different I wish the enter key was a bit bigger #! Overall I would give it a 8/10 the 17″ screen size is brilliant and it was hard to find this size at any of the shops! The speakers are good too, thank you amazon for selling and HP for making a decent mid-range laptop!

Pros
1. Light and thin which is good for me
2. Although 15.6, the screen size seems larger due to aspect ratio
3. Exclusive numeric keyboard layout means people switching from desktop can use faster
4. Long power cable means you can work away from the power point
5. Quick boots
Cons
1. Battery life is normal – approx. 5 hours – but with 1TB HDD this seems to be normal
2. Screen quality ok but not great. Although it is 1080p, but could have been better with all angle view
3. Click buttons are little hard, but this seems to be a similar pattern with my old HP ProBook
